Salary Range: $65,000 to $80,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience
Terrific Facilities Manager position with an award winning nonprofit theater company in New York City. This position will oversee and manage the facilities function for multiple theaters and the administrative offices. Specific areas of responsibility will include vendor management, repairs, preventative maintenance, information technology, rentals, and office management. The Facilities Manager will serve as the main point of contact, providing support for 33 full-time staff. Ideal candidates for this position will be proactive, comfortable delegating tasks and possess the ability to make decisions when needed. This role will have the ability to hire a team member to assist with the facilities function. Qualified candidates should have a demonstrated track record of success in facilities management and prior supervisory experience. Experience with a related organization is a plus. This position is based in New York City. The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000 per year, with potential flexibility above that level based on experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the entire facilities function for the organization
  • Develop and implement an effective preventative maintenance plan to mitigate the risk of emergency repairs
  • Proactively assess and develop a corrective course of action for facilities-related issues
  • Provide excellent customer service for stakeholders including co-workers, constituents, and students
  • Manage service agreements with outside vendors; review contracts and track invoices
  • Ensure compliance with building, fire, health, and safety codes
  • Oversee facilities rentals, including negotiating contracts, payments, and invoices
  • Collaborate with external IT consultants to maintain technology
  • Maintain the department budget
  • Recruit for a new facilities position and manage the front office staff
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated track record of success in a similar position, including supervisory experience
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions independently
  • Experience with a performing arts or similar organization is a plus
  • General understanding of building and fire codes
  • Ability to identify and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and consultants
  • Proactively manage the facility and ensure that problems are addressed in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed for emergencies
